In July 2022, couple Telly Justice and Camille Lindsley opened NY-based restaurant HAGS, an intimate, casual and inclusive establishment centered around creating a safe, welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies— whether patron or employee. HAGS is, as they say, “by Queer people for ALL people.”
Partners in life and business, Justice and Lindsley are the perfect pairing, with Telly taking charge of the kitchen as head chef and Camille complementing as beverage director. The niche concept, in combination with the duo’s relation – ship, means that the wine and food program truly go hand-in-hand, says Justice—all incorporating the spirit of inclusivity. “As Queers we hate dichotomy,” comments Lindsley. “I believe in creating a wine culture that centers the sensual aspects of enjoying and sharing wine, the agricultural practices that strive for a harmonious and restorative relationship with the land and is driven [more] by curiosity and humility instead of dogma.”
