“People call me ‘Champagne Blaine.’ Enough said,” says the Hawaii-born Ashley, an energetic promoter of sparkling wine whose New York Champagne Week will toast its fourth anniversary in November. While always wine-industry focused, this year’s events will also cater to consumers, with an emphasis on unstuffy events and Champagne tasting classes like “Let’s Get Fizz-acle” and “Back that Glass Up.” The intent is to make bubbly approachable, accessible and, most of all, fun.
