Frasca set a high bar for the at-home meal kit with its “Frasca At Home With” series, featuring meals and paired wines coupled with detailed videos from the chef and winemakers. Its success, along with other initiatives like virtual wine classes, allowed them to retain all employee benefits throughout the pandemic.
The restaurant also built one of the country’s loveliest “yurt villages,” inspired by the alpine cuisine and atmosphere of Friuli-Venezia Giulia in northeastern Italy. Meanwhile, owner Bobby Stuckey cofounded the Independent Restaurant Coalition, a lobbying group for independent restaurants and restaurant workers that has been critical in obtaining government aid.
“As a company and restaurant group, we shifted from a long-term mindset of growth to taking it day by day, week by week,” says Wine Director Carlin Karr. “Personally, I am immensely grateful to have the team we do to have gotten through the year we did.”
