Chef-Owner Gabriel Rucker helped transform Portland’s dining scene when opening this spot in 2006, and it’s still one of the Pacific Northwest’s best. He and Wine Director Andrew Fortgang have also just opened the casual wine bar Canard next door.
From the Sommelier: “It is always exciting to see old regions being highlighted and revitalized, like Galicia. It’s exciting to see the classics evolving in Burgundy, where sons and daughters take over for their parents. It’s exciting to see the vibrancy of German wine both inside and outside of the Pradikat system. It’s interesting to see the conversation about ‘natural’ wine maturing. There is so much dynamic stuff happening in the wine world!” —Andrew Fortgang, Le Pigeon
