Wine Director Alexandra Cherniavsky forgoes typical wine-list structure at this cheery comfort-food spot, opting instead for a series of ever-changing mini-lists like “It’s Willamette, Dammit,” “Friends & Neighbors” (PA and NY wines) and “Here and Gone” (limited quantity).
From the Sommelier: “I love that we’re seeing more local wines on wine lists, even in states where that may be an unconventional choice. We’ve got an entire local wine section, focusing on wines from PA and NY, because I believe these wines deserve a place in the conversation. If it’s normal to purchase produce from local farmers and beers from local breweries, why aren’t more restaurants endeavoring to share local wine with their guests? Pennsylvania wine is delicious and I love the excitement a guest gets when we share these wines tableside and they discover something fantastic that has been hiding in their backyard all along.” —Alexandra Cherniavsky, The Love
