One effect of the pandemic is a deeper focus on classic, ageworthy wines and back vintages, rather than racing to get new releases amid the challenges of problematic shipping issues and tariffs on European wine. The shift has found an appreciative audience among customers wanting wines they can’t find via their usual delivery channels.
“We’ve had a long year full of difficulties and innovations, but being in the restaurant industry means that returning business correlates to a return in celebrations and normalcy,” says Hanauer.
