Virginia is the name of the game here, where everything local is celebrated through both the seasonal, “up-south” dinner menu and the wine selection. The bottle list is divided by varietal, with state-made expressions given priority. Worldly pours are also offered, including those from offbeat sources like Bulgaria, Lebanon and Switzerland.
From The Sommelier: “I love expanding the Shagbark wine program, all the while striving to stay rooted in our Virginia heritage, while branching out to explore wines from all over the world. I love discovering ‘hidden gems’ and have had several distributors import items I have discovered on my travels such as selections from Switzerland, most of which never make it to the USA and are fantastic!” —Rodney Rosser, Shagbark
