A 40-year veteran of the wine and media businesses, Strum co-founded Wine Enthusiast magazine and catalog with entrepreneurial vision alongside his wife, Sybil Strum. He has always sought to make the wine lifestyle more accessible to all by bringing his passion to millions of readers and customers each year. The company has had a major impact on increasing wine consumption and culture in the world
In addition to being the Associate Publisher, VP of Wine Enthusiast Media, Strum also founded ThirstyNest. Previously, she worked in running communications and new business development for Wine Enthusiast Companies as well as holding public relations and digital media roles for global brands at Hunter Public Relations, Mission Media and UrbanDaddy. Strum completed an Advanced Degree with Distinction with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and graduated from George Washington University.
Reviews wines from Greece and Cyprus. Kostrzewa joined Wine Enthusiast as a senior editor in 2006 after 10 years in the travel, lifestyle, wine and food content realms in Northern California. In her tenure at the company, she has led a comprehensive rebrand of the legacy media group, including a complete redesign of the print magazine, website and expansion of the editorial and tastings teams on the West Coast, Europe and beyond. Kostrzewa was awarded Folio’s Changemaker of the Year award in 2018 for her successes in content attracting age- and gender-diverse audiences, and her efforts in mobilizing California wildfire relief support. Buzzeo joined Wine Enthusiast in 2006 as a tasting coordinator, and eventually became Tasting Director and Senior Editor, previously responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tasting and review program. In 2017, Buzzeo assumed the role of Managing Editor of Print, which expanded in late 2019 to manage the editor teams and content of the print publication and website, winemag.com. Since coming to Wine Enthusiast, she has made it one of her personal missions to promote the acceptance of cross-drinking, encouraging everyone to embrace finely crafted libations across all beverage categories, though she is often seen out and about promoting her tasting regions of South Africa and the South of France. Buzzeo is also an avid homebrewer and a member of the AHA (American Homebrewers Association). Read more
Turelli joined the Wine Enthusiast team in 2006. He came from a colorful background of niche and entertainment magazines, and has been essential in successfully launching multiple titles as well as revitalizing creative for flagship magazines during his twenty years in publishing. While Marco was always destined for a career in the visual arts, he discovered a personal passion for wine, food and cooking in his early twenties and has been expanding his palate with reckless abandon ever since.
Digital Creative Director
An intrepid traveler, Julia Lea immigrated from Australia in 2004. She joined Wine Enthusiast in 2013, bringing with her years of experience in food, lifestyle and travel art direction. Her clean, streamlined aesthetic is seen across winemag.com templates, features and overall design. She gained the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award with distinction, and continues to unashamedly grow her understanding of wine from her formidable colleagues.
Originally from Medellin, Colombia, Simon joined Wine Enthusiast in 2016 after establishing herself as a go-to branding design professional for the event and hospitality industries. In addition to her fresh and modern design for the magazine, Simon possesses an acute attention to detail and unmistakable originality. She’s also created a wide range of bold illustrations for the website and the magazine and has inspired us to bust out our color pencils with her enviable interpretation of the site’s adult coloring pages.

In addition to holding Level 3 Certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), Peartree has worked in many facets of the wine world, including years of winery experience in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, public relations experience and over three years at Wine Enthusiast in the Tasting and Review department. With a clear understanding of the production, import and public relations sectors, Peartree manages the daily operations, communications and content of the Tasting Department, as well as writing articles for the print magazine and website. Schlack has written and edited stories about cooking, dining, spirits, entertaining and travel, as well as developed recipes, in various editorial roles at Fine Cooking and Hemispheres. Her writing has won a NATJA award. When she’s not editing Wine Enthusiast’s food, spirits and entertaining stories, she can usually be found clanging around her Connecticut kitchen, beverage in hand, trying to re-create some tasty meal she’s had over the course of her travels. A veteran of New York City’s bar and restaurant scene, Garret has lived, breathed and sweated spirits for more than a decade, working as a bartender and beverage director at establishments ranging from Michelin-starred eateries to local Brooklyn pubs. Richard joined the editorial team of Wine Enthusiast in 2017 after relocating to New York from her home state of Massachusetts. Her fascination with beverage history and the science of drinks acts as a guiding force in her work. When she’s not lost down a rabbit hole of esoteric booze knowledge, you can usually find her camping or rocking out to metal bands. Read more

Daniels is the former Dining Editor at Hudson Valley magazine who has also written and edited for web-based publications such as Food52 and The Kitchn, and has assisted in food styling and recipe testing for an assortment of cookbooks. Prior to her career in culinary-related media, Daniels spent years as a pastry chef at venues throughout upstate New York and completed the Longhouse Food Scholars program. She has a soft spot for quiche and hiking trails with footbridges and would be hard-pressed to turn down a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Read more

Gaither has written for publications like Plate, Grub Street, Eater and VinePair, among others. She is also a research journalist for Karen MacNeil’s The Wine Bible, has worked as a food and beverage copywriter and authored countless wine label tasting notes. Joining Wine Enthusiast in 2020, Gaither is passionate about Champagne and Burgundy, and drinks copious amounts of both daily. Read more
While relatively new to the wine world, Jesse Reiter's knowledge and passion for photography runs deep. He brings over 15 years of experience in visual production and photo department management to the Wine Enthusiast team, which he joined in 2019. A native of New York City, Reiter enjoys trying new cuisines with his family (and then trying to replicate them at home), spending time in nature and rock climbing. He is now experiencing a new found passion for wine and has been working hard on growing his palate.

Tom Arena works with the Wine Enthusiast art team to create photography and visuals that bring content from the magazine and website to life. If he’s not in the photo studio, Arena can be found arguing with his cat about what to watch on Netflix. He is a New York native and now resides in Rockland County.

Reviews wines from Other U.S. Native Brooklynite Fiona Adams’ excitement for wine was sparked at a young age by her father. Working in a handful of New York City wine shops, she developed her wine knowledge, eventually earning her Level 2 WSET certification. With a deepening passion for wine, Fiona explored other roles in the industry with a stint in Long Island wine country at a winery’s tasting room before joining Wine Enthusiast in 2014. In her role, Fiona hopes to share her passion for natural, organic and biodynamic wines. Read more
A native New Yorker, Chamberlain first learned of his love of wine during a trip to the Virginia's Rappahannock Valley with his wife. Coming from an extensive background in the hospitality industry, Chamberlain joined Wine Enthusiast's Tasting & Review department in 2017. When he's not pursuing his sommelier certification with the Court of Master Sommeliers, he enjoys pairing wines with game caught while hunting and fishing.
William (Bill) Johnson left the Army with bucolic visions of vineyards and winemaking. After working as a harvest hand and an assistant winemaker in the Northeast, Johnson joined the Wine Enthusiast team in the summer of 2019. In his free time, Johnson enjoys exercising, improving his foreign language skills and home winemaking.
Social Media Manager
Estrella joined Wine Enthusiast in 2016 and manages all aspects of the magazine’s social media program. Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Estrella developed a love of wine while living in California and continued to develop her wine knowledge working in wine bars, eventually completing her Level 2 Certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). She has a background in graphic design, a penchant for quirky coffee shops and never turns down a glass of bubbly.

Reviews wines from Portugal and France. Roger Voss is a veteran wine and food author, and a journalist and has been writing about wine and food for the past 25 years. His books include France: A Feast of Food and Wine; The Wines of the Loire; Pocket Guide to the Wines of the Loire, Alsace and the Rhône; and Fortified Wines. He is based in Bordeaux, France, and reviews the wines of France (except those from the Rhône, Languedoc, Alsace and Burgundy) and Portugal. Read more

Prior to her appointment with Wine Enthusiast, O’Keefe, who moved to Italy in 1991, wrote regularly on Italian wine for Decanter, as well as for World of Fine Wine and on winesearcher.com. She is a former contributing editor for Wine News magazine, and is the author of Franco Biondi Santi: The Gentleman of Brunello (Veronelli Editore, 2005), a recipient of a Gourmand Wine Book Award. A fifth-generation Californian originally from San Jose, Kettmann is a senior editor for The Santa Barbara Independent, the weekly newspaper/daily website where he started his journalism career in 1999 after graduating from UC-Santa Barbara with an anthropology degree. He's reported on wine and more for for the New York Times, Time Magazine and Wine Spectator, among other publications. He is the author of Vines & Visions: The Winemakers of Santa Barbara County, a 632-page profile of the region, and is currently updating the Southern California chapter for The Oxford Companion to Wine. West Coast Director
Allison Langhoff oversees direct and agency advertising partnerships with clients throughout the West Coast. With the bulk of her career at Wine Enthusiast Media, she had previous lives in both broadcast radio and fashion. Langhoff is based in San Francisco and prides herself on knowing exactly where the fog line is.
Senior Director of Operations & Events
Jen Cortellini's expertise, connections and broad vision lead her team to produce events and manage partnerships that are memorable and exceed expectations. She maintains a big-picture philosophy with a focus on client goals and a critical eye on the details. Her ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously makes her an agile part of the team. She came to WE after many years in the financial world to follow her passion for wine.
West Coast Account Manager
Karen Moore lives in Southern Oregon and manages accounts in the Pacific Northwest and parts of California. She is a California Wine Appellation Specialist and attended the San Francisco wine school for three years.
Central California Account Manager
Jen Hord works with a variety of businesses in her role for WE, including West Coast based wineries, importers and distributors. She has a specialization in marketing strategy and tourism. Hord previously worked at advertising and marketing agencies in Europe and the U.S. before joining WE in 2017. She is currently based in Pebble Beach, California.
Florida & Buying Guide Manager
Denise Valenza oversees the sales and marketing for our Wine, Spirits and Beer Buying Guides. Since joining Wine Enthusiast in 1996, she has been responsible for identifying & developing creative sales opportunities and growing partnerships. She resides in Tampa, Florida, with her husband and three daughters.
East Coast Account Manager
After years of experience in the production, planning, buying, research and development of marketing campaigns, Kalaher took a role at a start-up called Real Simple and joined the world of publishing. There, she realized her passion for the sales role and loved working on the front line hoping to help clients by providing custom solutions. Although she is new to the wine world, Kalaher loves the challenge of this evolving category and meeting people from all over the world.
East Coast Account Manager
As an East Coast Account Manager for WE, Sherrill Flaum develops relationships while building successful marketing plans to fit the goals of her clients. Previously, she was director, network development at TV Guide, where she created cross-platform initiatives for entertainment clients and was able to meet her TV idol, Mariska Hargitay. She is a proud, hardworking mommy.
Digital Advertising Producer
Keri D’Onofrio manages and produces digital programs for advertising partners. She spent years partnering with brands to develop custom products for a variety of audiences. D'Onofrio has over 10 years of media experience with a background in content development, strategy, marketing and business development. She has fond memories of making wine with her Italian grandfather and is fascinated by all facets of the wine industry.

Caitlin Micek is responsible for digital advertising production, social media management and working with digital advertisers to ensure their campaigns are executed successfully. She studied communications and business at American University in Washington, D.C.

Anika Deluca started at Wine Enthusiast in 2018. She earned her BFA from Syracuse University in Communications Design. Prior to working at WE, Deluca worked on brands like Pepsi, Chase, Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits and Hood. Some of her award recognitions include GD USA, ADDY and Design of the Times.
Manager of Events & Production
Jennifer Sullivan joined Wine Enthusiast in 2015, bringing prior experience working in the events space as well as her extreme attention to detail. She is responsible for helping all Wine Enthusiast events come to life. In her free time, Sullivan, aka Sulls, enjoys binging on the Food Network, penne alla vodka pizza and copious amounts of candy.

Abigail Turrisi joined Wine Enthusiast in 2020. Prior to working at WE, she interned at the Philadelphia Inquirer, CNBC, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Turrisi graduated from Temple University with a BA in Media Studies and Production. She enjoys traveling and eating pasta and is eager to learn more about the world of wine.
Chief Strategy Officer
As Chief Strategy Officer for Wine Enthusiast Companies, Erika Strum wears many hats. In the media group, she leads the digital growth strategy, product development and marketing for winemag.com. She has an MBA from NYU Stern and Advanced Certification from Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). She enjoys a good pun, stinky cheese and making wine accessible and approachable to all.
Senior Web Developer
Originally from Georgia, one of the oldest wine regions in the world, Irakli Khakhviashvili joined Wine Enthusiast in 2017. His lead role is essential in managing, updating and maintaining the company's online presence. When Irakli is not immersed in his code, he likes spending time with his daughter, hanging out with friends, going out hiking, running and exploring new places.
A veteran of the web, Chris helps brings Wine Enthusiast to life online. Just as enthusiastic about drinking a New World Pinot Noir as a he is a Pilsner, Chris joined Wine Enthusiast in the fall of 2019. When not working on the site, Chris gravitates toward other projects at the intersection of his hobbies and technology.
Suzanne Normoyle is the controller at Wine Enthusiast Companies, where she oversees the publishing business. Normoyle previously worked at Micro Warehouse, first as an accounting clerk and eventually becoming the manager of financial controls. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Puget Sound, and lives in Westchester, New York with her husband and son.

Barbara Gianisis maximizes circulation and distribution strategies for Wine Enthusiast's Media and Catalog departments. With a background in database marking and prior experience working with Micro Warehouse, Best Buy and Tabcom, she can keep production costs in check while maintaining the beauty of our printed products.
