Quick take: “This is a pretty spirit-forward drink, like a Manhattan or Negroni,” says Corcoran. “It has a little heat from the whiskey, sweetness from the vermouth, and Génépi des Alpes is kind of an herbal as well. Prosecco works nicely in here because it does need a little bit of sweetness to kind of balance out the more overt booziness of the cocktail.”

Directions
Add all ingredients, except Prosecco and garnish, in mixing glass. Fill with ice. Stir for 30 seconds. Strain into rocks glass with large ice cube. Top with Prosecco. Garnish with orange crown.
To make orange crown: Cut swath of orange rind down middle. Cut each end of peel into points.
Position rind on lip of glass, pith-side down.
