Negroni 57 Cocktail

Courtesy of Sebastian Hamilton-Mudge, global brand ambassador, Plymouth Gin, Plymouth, England

“There’s always going to be a lot of sugar added to sloe gin because [of] the astringency of the sloe berry, but we add as little as we possibly can to allow bartenders to balance drinks,” says Plymouth’s Sebastian Hamilton-Mudge. “I like using it in Negronis because they bring a little [sulfur-like] content to the drink.” At Plymouth’s onsite Refectory Bar, Hamilton-Mudge presents this drink in individual glass bottles for a fun, decorative touch.

Ingredients

1 ounce navy strength gin
1 ounce Plymouth Sloe Gin
1/3 ounce Carpano Antica Formula sweet vermouth
1/3 ounce Campari
Orange slice for garnish

Directions

Combine all ingredients except garnish into mixing glass with ice. Stir until well chilled, 30–45 seconds. Pour into Collins glass over fresh ice, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with orange slice.
