Adapted from Beachbum Berry’s Potions of the Caribbean, by Jeff Berry
- 1 rounded teaspoon sugar
- ¾ ounce fresh lime juice
- 2½ ounces Rhum Barbancourt (Berry suggests the 8-year-old Five Star bottling)
- 1½ ounces fresh orange juice
- ¼ ounce maraschino liqueur
- ½ ounce Myers’s Original Dark Jamaican Rum (float)
In a cocktail shaker, stir together the sugar and lime juice until the sugar dissolves. Add remaining ingredients (except Myers’s) and ice. Shake well, and strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Pour Myers’s gently over the rounded bowl of a spoon to “float” it on top of the drink.
